Drama

The St Norbert College Drama Program is available to all year groups.

The College offers classroom elective options in Years 7 -10 and the General Drama course runs in Years 11-12.

Our emphasis is on performance, confidence building, building an understanding of our dramatic heritage and on the importance of expression, empathy and teamwork. The  lower school courses explore many different styles of theatre such as melodrama, musical theatre, commedia dell’arte and reader’s theatre. Students develop communication skills and a critical appreciation of their own work and of others.

Our productions are supported by an extensive Costume Department.

A major performance is produced every two years, with smaller plays created in the intervening year.

For the past 35 years, the St Norbert College Drama Program has been run by drama teacher Miss Kerri Hilton, who in 2020 received two national honours in the Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association awards for her demonstration of leadership and dedication to students.
