St Norbert College has a vibrant Performing Arts program, giving students the opportunity to participate Msic, Dance and Drama.
Classroom lessons, individual tuition and rehearsals are conducted in the Xanten Performing Arts Centre, which includes the 190-seat Xanten Theatre.
The Performing Arts program is represented in annual performing arts nights, lunchtime concerts, the Catholic Performing Arts Festival for schools and official school events.
The Music Program caters for students both from within the College and from neighbouring Catholic Primary Schools. Professional tutors cover a wide range of instruments, including flute, clarinet, acoustic/electric guitar, drums and percussion, keyboards, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, double bass, saxophone, and electric bass.
The College Dance Program gives students the chance to study a number of dance forms including Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acrobatic and Hip Hop. The four specialised dance programs – Junior Dance team, Senior Dance team, Canons Hip Hop Crew and Tap Troupe – perform at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival, Dance Night, Orientation Day and College Presentation Night.
The well-established Drama Program provides students with the opportunity to experience the varied aspects involved in a drama production.
The College production is held every two years and showcases our most talented actors, dancers and musicians. Students may also select to be part of the Production Team.
