Kimberley Immersion: Dream lives on

TWO St Norbert College students have touched the hearts of the WA football community with their secondhand boot drive for needy people in the Kimberley.

Holly and Zoe Giles, Year 10 and 7 respectively, have received hundreds of boots – most dropped off to St Norbert College in Treasure Rd by junior, amateur and WAFL football clubs.

From September 11-17, Holly took part in the College’s biennial trip to the North-West, known as the Kimberley Immersion, in which 10 students and three staff travelled to Broome and Kununurra to carry out community service work as part of a long tradition organised by the Student Ministry.

Holly decided to combine this opportunity with her dream to continue to the good work of her late uncle in remote communities.

The Sunday Times, Subiaco Post, Canning Examiner and the Broome Advertiser are among media outlets to cover the story and the boot drive project was also shared on social media sites.
