Norbertine order

ImageThe Norbertine Canons of Queens Park are a group of men called by Christ who base their life and work on the example set by St Norbert (1080-1134). Their heritage of over 850 years comes from Prémontré (1120, France), Tongerlo Abbey (1130, Belgium) and Kilnacrott Abbey (1924, Ireland) and began in Australia in 1959 at the invitation of the Archbishop of Perth.

It was once said that St Norbert was "prepared for every good work." The Norbertines, therefore engage in active service to the people of God. They share the riches of their spiritual tradition by inviting staff and students of the College and the wider community to participate in the liturgy in St Joseph's Priory Church. Image

The mission, ethos and values central to College life are derived from the work of St Norbert and the Norbertines. The Norbertine Priests and Brothers play an important role in the development of faith, ideals and values of our students and serve the College community in their roles as sacramental ministers, counsellors, teachers and support staff.
