Through various agencies and activities the College provides vocational counselling for all students, particularly those in Years 10, 11 and 12.  The Careers Counsellor co-ordinates Work experience programs, distributes or makes available a wide range of material on Careers, and brings into the College many representatives of Career Agencies. (See Careers Office).

Vocational counselling also forms a vital part of the College subject selection procedures.  Parent/Student Information evenings are held for all students and details of requirements for Secondary graduation, Tertiary Entrance and TAFE admissions are outlined in detail.  When students discuss their program of study with a member of the College leadership Team a key aspect of the counselling session concerns the student’s career goals.

This interviewing, counselling and negotiating with students on the selection of school subjects enables them to be aware of prerequisites for further study, and to make informed decisions regarding their career aspirations.

‘Career Education’ programs in the school are designed to enable participative use of learning resources and an experiential learning process.

Cross-curricular careers education helps students in all subjects to develop their careers and infuses a school-wide policy for careers work.

Workplace Learning (INSTEP) is a community linked career program which liaises with parents, employers and other community based people, to form a sound network of career experiences.
